Position Title:  Loan Assistant

Classification:  Full Time/Non-Exempt

Branch Location:  Ireton

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Loan Assistant is responsible for supporting Consumer, Agricultural and Commercial loan officers in their efforts to generate additional loan business/revenue for the bank while also providing an excellent customer service experience for our customers and prospects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential duties and responsibilities are intended to describe those functions that are essential to the performance of this position.

  • Process loan requests verifying draw is within the proper limits for customer.
  • Communicate proactively and pleasantly with borrowers and third parties to ensure loan related tasks are completed according to established deadlines and regulations and/or process requirements.
  • Process routine customer loan transactions and respond to loan relationship inquires as needed. 
  • Proactively seek to better meet changing customer needs, bank growth objectives and department profitability benchmarks within an evolving regulatory framework by remaining current on the application of existing and newly emerging loan products, financial services and technologies.
  • Has a strong commitment and dedication to internal and external customer service.
  • Works in connection with lender to obtain required loan financial information and other loan documentation prior to loan closing and as needed for ongoing administration of loans and customer relationships.
  • Reviews reports generated from the bank’s tracking systems and works with lender and customers to assure customer and loan files are maintained in a complete, current and accurate manner.
  • Works in connection with lender to obtain customer signatures on required credit and loan file documentation, as directed by the lender.
  • Maintain and reconcile filing fees account.
  • Is accountable to the credit department, compliance department and lender for accurate loan document preparation, interactions with loan processors in the booking and funding of loans, and credit/loan file related imaging.
  • Participates in community affairs to increase the Bank’s visibility and to serve the community where we operate.
